Since 2006 Coombe Cottage has achieved annual recognition from the Quality in Tourism Board and consistently been awarded the 'Visit Britain Four Star' rating.
We are also proud to be awarded ‘Families Welcome’, 'Cyclists Welcome' and 'Walkers Welcome' Specialist Accreditations.
The natural beauty of North Devon is a haven for the young, old, families, walkers, cyclists to explore the great outdoors. Coombe Cottage is ideally situated to take advantage of Exmoor National Park, the majestic coastal paths alternatively the Tarka Trail.
Coombe Cottage is delighted to be awarded the specialist 'VisitBritain Welcome Schemes' accreditations - 'Families Welcome', 'Walkers Welcome' and 'Cyclists Welcome'. These schemes were developed with expert advice and support from the Countryside Agency and the Youth Hostel Association. They each give families, walkers and cyclists the confidence that they are booking quality accommodation that meets their particular needs.
We already know from our visitors and the comments left in the guest books that they value the location of our cottage in Goodleigh which is so conveniently located in ‘Ruby Country’. With rolling hills, hundreds of square miles of patchwork farmland it is an area where you can swim, cycle, walk or learn to sail or just take in the spectacular sunset - all in one day. And if that sounds too much, take a picnic and enjoy the view – from just about anywhere.

Families Welcome
Coombe Cottage provides the following to meet family needs:
- For babies and toddlers – a highchair, travel cot (without linen), stair gate, plastic cutlery and crockery
- For those wet days – a selection of indoor games, books, DVD and music
- For those snowy days - a sledge
- For better weather – a selection of outdoor games, a good sized garden to play in and BBQ
- For family outings – lightweight cool bag, picnic equipment and rug, thermos flask
- For family walks – guides and maps
- For family cycle rides – bikes to borrow, bike rack, puncture repair kit and lock
- For family beach days out – body boards, some wetsuits and snorkels
- Friendly village pub that welcomes children and serves food, including a children’s menu
- Full tourist information about attractions that are suitable for all the family

Walkers Welcome
Coombe Cottage provides the following to meet the needs of all walkers, irrespective of whether you just like a gentle stroll around the village, a good walk of a few miles to build up an appetite, or striding out in all weathers on Exmoor or the Coastal Path.
- Boot scraper near the main cottage door
- Outside tap and hosepipe to clean walking boots and outdoor clothing
- Indoor drying areas with hanging facilities for clothes
- Rotary washing line and pegs
- Washing machine and tumble drier in the Utility Room for your laundering clothes
- A separate Belfast sink in the Utility Room
- Fabric washing liquid and conditioner are available for use

We have organised for you to pre order basic grocery items prior to your arrival at Coombe Cottage. Simply complete our food order form and we will ensure your groceries are available upon your arrival. Please allow a minimum of 7 days notice. A service charge of £5 will apply.
